Pelleted Feed Moolah
Pelleted Feed Moolah
Moolah pellet is a pelletised feed aimed at providing a nutritionally balanced compound feed ideal for times where higher feed rates are required, such as feed deficits, and for controlled delivery of additives.
Additional Information
Benefits
- Starch from grains and grain by-products in addition to sugar from molasses, which are readily fermentable and can help stimulate milk protein production.
- 18% crude protein, ideal for balancing seasonal deficiencies in pasture.
- Contains palm kernel expeller (up to 35%).
- 25g/kg calcium and 10g/kg salt to help meet the needs of lactating animals.
- Low dust, low wastage.
- Accurate and controlled delivery of additives.
- Carefully selected and processed raw materials, which are inspected prior to entry to FeedSafe NZ accredited mills to ensure quality and palatability.
Feeding recommendations
- Typical feeding rates are 1-4kg/head/day.
- Moolah is designed to be delivered to cows in a controlled manner via an in-shed feeding system or can be thoroughly mixed with a significant portion of the daily forage allowance prior to feeding in troughs or trailers.
- Trace elements and other additives are added by request to suit a specific feed rate. Feed rates higher or lower may reduce efficacy of additives or cause toxicity
- If cows are not currently fed grain or pellets, introduce Moolah at 0.5-1kg per milking (1-2kg/day) and gradually increase by 0.5kg/day until the desired intake has been achieved. Always provide access to long forage and clean drinking water. The mineral requirements of herds vary greatly, regular testing of blood and liver samples may be helpful to ensure target health, immunity and fertility levels are achieved.
- Suitable for feeding to lactating cattle.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry and vermin free environment out of direct sunlight. Check silos regularly for leaks, and empty silos at the end of each season.

*Metabolisable Energy (ME) values are calculated by a registered laboratory from an equation and are not an actual measurement. Therefore they are only a guide for predicting the energy content of a feed.
^Variations in nutritional values may occur due to natural variability in feed ingredients. Our FeedSafe NZ certified sites have well developed systems to minimise any variation from the typical levels shown.
