Dehydrated Molasses Blocks

Dehydrated Molasses Blocks

Forage Max

A dehydrated molasses block designed to support growth and development of stock by increasing microbial activity in the gut so animals get more out of their feed. This can benefit forage digestion, dry matter intake, trace element status and live weight gain and fertility.

SealesWinslow Forage Max

SealesWinslow Forage Max is an easy and effective way to balance pasture deficiency, improve stock health and productivity and enhance rumen function to ensure your stock get the most out of their diet. It contains a carefully selected range of trace elements and vitamins which have been shown to improve:

  • Reproductive performance of heifers
  • Animal health and immune system
  • Heifer weight pre-mating

New Zealand research on R2 heifers showed an increased conception rate of 5% and a conception date 4 days earlier when using a dehydrated molasses blocks for 2 months prior to and 3 months post mating.

Forage Max can also be used:

  • After calving to help with milk production
  • Wherever you have low-quality pasture, to help digestibility
  • With all classes of young stock, to assist their growth
  • By beef cows all-year access to aid meat production
  • With bulls to support fertility and performance
  • By deer during fawning and the rut, or even all year round to help meat production
  • For goats year round to help health and production

Forage Max is easy to use, just place the tubs in your paddocks and stock will help themselves. We recommend that you place tubs in areas where you want stock to graze, and avoid placing them near water troughs.

Place tubs in paddocks at a ratio of:

  • 1 x 22.5 kg every 25 head of cattle

Typical intakes (per animal):

  • Cattle (dairy or beef): 200-250 g/day
  • Cattle young stock: 75-150 g/day
  • Deer: 50-100 g/day
  • Goats: 40-60 g/day

Dehydrated Molasses Blocks

Calver Max

A dehydrated molasses block designed set cows up for a healthy lactation by replenishing nutrient levels and balancing pasture mineral deficiencies. In particular it helps maintain optimum blood magnesium levels which helps reduce the risk of milk fever.

SealesWinslow Calver Max

SealesWinslow Calver Max is an easy and effective way to balance pasture deficiencies and replenish the animal’s trace element and vitamin reserves during the dry period, before the stressful calving time. It contains a range of carefully selected nutrients which have been shown to:

  • Reduce the risk of milk fever by optimising blood magnesium levels
  • Increase rumen performance and appetite post calving
  • Increase digestion efficiency
  • Improve the transition into lactation
  • Improve immunity

New Zealand research on dairy cows has also shown that dehydrated molasses blocks can help lower retained placentas and improve pre-calving condition scores.

Calver Max should be provided to cows 60 days before calving until the end of the colostrum period. This is when magnesium requirements are at their highest but feed levels of this nutrient are at their lowest. It can also be used with dry stock when pasture, dry matter feed, or silage quality is low.

We recommend that you place tubs in areas where you want stock to graze, and avoid placing them near water troughs. Forage Max should be introduced 2 months prior to calving and fed through to the end of the colostrum period.
